Welcome folks!  Usually, we expect an introduction by a person giving a brief idea about how one exactly is, even though it might just be the opposite. Duh! Why always do something that is meant to be or we supposed to? Why not do something we should and feel?! (No! Not at all rebellious!) Though I clearly remember barely following rules as a child. Yeah! You got me there! Honestly! You can say, I am a perfectly average human, with a decent job and a not so extra-ordinary adventurous life. All in all just a girl next door! Who can play well, both being sassy and monotonous when needed. I am a bong by birth and have spent substantial twenty- one years of my life in Uttar-Pradesh and currently in Pune. There is a celebrated French proverb - “PETIT A PETIT, L’OISEAU FAIT SON NID.”  which means - Little by little the bird makes its nest. I happen to stick to it. This proverb designates patience and perseverance, which I believe is limited and difficult to keep up within today’s world.

Fun things to do while social distancing

We by far, now know the basic rules of social distancing. It is essential to maintain social distancing so as to stop the hazardous spread of the global coronavirus pandemic. Avoid stepping out, limit-off the gatherings, and of course, maintain proper hygiene in combating the deadly virus.

You may be an introvert or an extrovert, right now as most of us are quarantined, and facing challenges which we can barely express and deal with. Challenge of maintaining work-life balance, challenges to be principled, facing self- management issues, or say some of us even are facing time-management problems.

But, here I am with some small basic fun ideas you can do while you are social distancing -

  1. Read a book - If your mind needs a boost, read a book for pleasure. There are many online books also available for the same.

  1. Cook for fun - You can have an indoor picnic with your inmates or family members, the kids would love this for sure!

  1. Connect with people - This is the best time to connect and plan a virtual reunion with your family members and some old friends. A virtual girl’s night is a hit for sure. I did it too!!

  1. Exercise - Try some simple ways to maintain yourself. You can go for some online videos on Yoga routine and Zumba / Aerobics for a little change.

  1. Purge and re-arrange your living space - The best time to look in for some hacks to help you set things as per your wish, whether you talk about the closet or the places that might require a little bit of spin. Clean and neat living space vibes the best!

  1. Gardening - Get your hands a little dirty and grow. A small home-garden is the cutest thing ever and of course, when it starts to bloom you do feel pleased. Trust me on that!

  1. Binge-watch/ Movie night - Probably the best time to catch up on many things and develop an interest. I love watching comedy movies with my entire family, to be honest!

  1. Learn an instrument - This is the perfect time to start learning the new instrument. In this digital era, we get a lot of online sources on Youtube and easy subscription channels to help you explore.

  1. Create something - Help yourself and your child to walk down the creative road and craft some fun simple items and even paint beautiful imaginative objects or artefacts in the canvas.

  1.  Help someone if possible - During this crisis we all should stand up and support each other so as to survive. You can take time to help the lonely elderly citizens in your society or just feed the strays. They need us!

As rightly said -
“Don’t count the days,
Make the days count.”
                                           -Muhammad Ali

Please do take into consideration and try to make the passing days count in exploring, self - realization, creativity, and try and do what makes you really happy. Take time off and make yourself available for the ones who need you! Participation, engaging, and joining hands together will help you sustain.
